Intermittent fasting, Does half&half break your fast

So mrs Banned is doing intermittent fasting. She is relying on YouTube videos to get her information which is all across the board.
Im trying to help her figure out because I honestly don’t know if during her 16jr fast if coffee with the half&half is considered her to be breaking her fast.
I believe that it does but I don’t think that some h&h in her morning coffee will ruin her efforts to keep up with her fasting.

Intermittent fasting is a great tool to use for weight loss. It retrains your body that it can burn fat storage quicker.

You need to start your day with a cardio session after fasting for 16hrs from the night before until the next morning which is usually a 2hr period before taking in any nutrition.
So your fasting 16hrs a day and then getting in a calorie deficit diet in the 8hrs you have given yourself to do so. You really want to have atleast 2hrs before sleeping and 2hrs upon awaking.

What is everyone’s opinion on if the h&h breaks her fast or its not anything to really worry about as long as she keeps 16hrs with no intake and 8hrs eating 1300-1500 calories.
Here are some links to read about intermittent fasting.

@Bigmurph I have used intermittent fasting recently and on/off for several years. Any amount of calorie intake is TECHNICALLY called breaking the fast but in reality the amount of minimum calories that can be consumed during the fast is going to be very individually based without having a negative impact on the actual fasting effects. The research as you know is limited and contradictory so anecdotal evidence is our ‘go to’… Again. 😉

On my fasting period I consume one cup of coffee with h&h and 5g of BCAA’s and I do not consider this breaking my fast. Does it actually break my fast… I have no idea but I did not see any negative results from doing things this way. My situation might be slightly different than most because my diet is strict keto combined with intermittent fasting.

I hope this helps in some way.

If you want to be technical Coffee needs to be black. Yes it would break it. Only bcaa is allowed pre training if the done faster. Technically gum should not hurt either because the cals are so insignificant. I did IF for awhile back in the day with good results.

Tell her to look up Jim Stoppani. He has a wealth of info on this and it’s what he does.

As always I appreciate everyone’s opinion.
Now I can show mrs Banned that it is technically breaking her fast.
I do agree though that the 2 tablespoons used is so minimal that I myself if I were to IM again wouldn’t even worry about the have to follow everything perfect. Im an out of the box thinker sometimes it bites me in the ass others it really doesn’t matter.
Thanks fellas
