18/6 intermittent fasting

I went to the gym today. I needed it to help my brain chemistry. My delt was sketchy but thankfully it was a good back and traps workout.
I looked contest shredded even after 6 days without training. If you want to get shredded quickly, intermittent fasting is the way. Train fasted and fat melts off.
I did:
  • 3 sets cable rows
  • 3 sets single arm cable rows
  • 3 sets hammer strength rows
  • 3 sets narrow grip pull downs
  • 3 sets hammer strength shrugs
  • 3 sets rope crunches for abs
Post workout I had a whey protein/oat shake and a fish oil capsule. An hour later I had a dozen egg whites and 2 1/2 cups of rice.

Yeah, I just did chest. The pressing machine that simulates dumbbell presses felt bad so I stopped on that but it went well on pec deck elbows together, fly machine elbows up, inclined press machine, and assisted dips. My mind sure likes being in the gym again.

It sucks about your chest I hope that it heals up well for you brother I have used intermittent fasting and fasted cardio sense the beginning its an amazing way to cut weight.
I personally don’t think I could do it while running gear but cutting it works so well I bet you were basically show ready fasting because its kinda like prep right? I don’t compete but I imagine dropping weight is important lol
It really does allow your body to start burning fat right from the start instead of having to just burn your nutrition already in your body.

It’s my left rear delt and the middle delt that partially tore a week ago while doing standing biceps curls of all things. Really bizarre but it’s a reoccurring injury. I’ve had partial tears so many times in my delts I’m just glad I can still lift.
I’m thoroughly convinced that the higher doses of ASS I’m on are what is sparing my muscle while burning fat on this diet, I think I would get skinny if doing this naturally. I’m meant to be a stick body genetically.
The hunger isn’t an issue until day 4. By day 5 I’m cranky and need a big cheat meal which always leaves me looking and feeling a lot better the next day.

Im a fool I thought it was your chest for some reason even though I read delt over and over lol

You definitely can’t tell your supposed to be a stick. That helps I bet keep you lean but is a pain to bulk im completely opposite I bulk automatically lol and cutting is a challenge but the fasting works.

I agree also you should definitely refeed once a week heavy carbs it will help you the rest of the week its interesting that actually over eating with a refeed helps you continue to lose weight.

The hunger for me is when I go to bed which is really weird I won’t be hungry until im actually lying down. Really weird for me lol

I’m stuck at the moment in my fat loss quest and get abs like you cool guys. I can’t fast as long as you can but I’m contemplating moving my training to oh-dark thirty. That would give me maybe 9-10 hours fasted.

Every night I take NyQuil with my whey shake for my last meal. It kicks in an hour or so later and I’m good to sleep, I’ve been using NyQuil for years. I used to have horrible insomnia and anxiety years ago. Now it’s just part of my nightly routine. 😀

Effects of intermittent feeding upon growth and life span in rats

C L Goodrick et al. Gerontology. 1982.

Abstract

From weaning to death, 28 male Wistar rats were maintained on an ad libitum (AL) diet, and 24 counterparts were provided the diet every-other-day (EOD). The mean life span of the EOD group represented an 83% increase over that of the AL group. Furthermore, a Gompertzian analysis of mortality rates suggested that the rate of aging was retarded in the EOD group. While body weight and growth rate were reduced in the EOD group, their growth duration was 75% longer compared to the AL group. Significant positive relationships emerged between life span and growth rate parameters in the AL group; however, no significant relationships were found between life span and body weight parameters in the EOD group. Therefore, in support of the hypothesis that dietary restriction effects prolongevity through retarded development, evidence was produced only in the between-group comparisons of AL- and EOD-fed animals.
