It's Finally Time To Get My Get-Back🥊

Hey fellas, I hope everyone is doing well…I know its been a little while since I’ve been around on the board and I have definitely missed reading the posts and communicating with all of you.

I’ve had a lot going on and brewing for about the last 5 weeks or so, but now that everything has been signed and finalized I’m finally at liberty to share the good news with everyone.

After an incredibly long and drawn out process and a lengthy lay-off due to the coronavirus, I finally have a fight date and opponent locked in for March 27. By the time I get in the ring I will have been out of action for just over a year, which will be my longest layoff in over 3 years.

Up until this point I haven’t been able to secure a fight at the Super Lightweight (140lb) division that I’ve been campaigning at for the last couple years. I had previously stated after making the move to 140 that I would not be taking another fight at the Lightweight (135lb) division simply bc it had become too difficult to cut down and make the weight as my body has just outgrown that weight class just based on the amount of pure muscle mass I’ve added to my frame.

All this being said, the call finally came and the term sheet was sent over. Myself and my manager looked it over discussed the details and then sent back over our adjustments.

The fighter I’ll be facing and the weight class we’ll be officially fighting at is actually going to be Lightweight (135). The paycheck & getting back in the ring vs. Continuing to hold out and wait it out for a fight at Super Lightweight was far outweighed.

A couple things that are in my favor and helped make my decision a little easier to make is the fact that my opponent is actually planning on moving up to 140 after our fight, they chose me thinking putting him in there with me will give them a good solid look to see if he is in fact ready to make the jump to 140. (MISTAKE #1 on their part)

Also in the negotiations, on our end we sent back the term sheet with our adjustments which they agreed to and signed which states there will be no rehydration clause in the contract which means after the weigh in we’ll both be allowed to rehydrate to our max weight or however much weight we put on before we get in the ring is irrelevant.

Secondly since this is not a title fight and has no implications on an upcoming title fight we are allotted a 2.5lb grace on the weigh in basically making the fight at a catch weight of 137.5lbs. This was put in the term sheet basically to protect me and my health going into the fight of having to actually cut down to 135. Even tho this is in the contract I am going to attack this 135 lb weigh in the same way I would any other fight and weigh in. I’m taking this on as a personal challenge and although I know its going to be difficult I can and will make this weight. As of right now I’m weighing right around 147lbs, give or take 1 or 2 lbs in either direction depending on the day.

I will officially begin training camp Jan 25 and will run thru March 21, with the fight scheduled to take place on March 27. This giving me not quite as long of a training camp as usual but does give me a full 7 weeks of camp, 6 of those weeks being grueling and tough and then a cool down week to let the body rest and recoup and then the final week being fight week which I’ll use to cut and shed any remaining pounds that need to come off.

It’s true, I’ve been out of the ring for going on a year now, but I have not let my body or mind get out of shape. I have kept my drive and focus throughout this whole long ordeal and have kept my ass in the gym preparing for this day to come, so I’m okay with a shorter camp and would be ready to go even sooner if necessary.

Just wanted to let you guys kno what’s been going on with me for those that are interested and like for me to keep you all some what in the loop.

I’d like to give my sponsor a big thank you for continuing to stick by me thru this last year while we rode out this long wait to get back in the ring…currently I’m still running his Test C, Mast E, and just coming off a 6 week run of his Tren A at a moderately low dose of 280mg/wk.

To the guys who’ve been around here on UGM for awhile, thank you guys for always showing me love and support, even after my last time out and being handed my first loss which was on the scorecards by split decision. To the new guys who don’t know much about me, I appreciate yall too…

It’s time to get it🥊

Sounds like your plan and arrangements are good to go.I anyways enjoy your posts when your lettin us know about your next fight, they continue to motivate me, which I can always use.I admire your work ethic, and because of that I’m behind you as much as I can be over the internet,so I’m ready for you to spill some blood and get to it buddy.

A bad ass boxer at that his fights have been epic events in my opinion that before covid I always was excited about so im glad that you’re back in training getting ready brother.

Wish you the best as always

That’s a sweet record brother. Are you a pro? The reason I ask is I’d love to watch but there is the whole identity thing here which makes it hard. Which there should be not complaining bout it.

@Bigmurph thank you as well bro and I appreciate the kind words man. You’ve been one of my biggest supporters here since joining this awesome board a little over 3 years ago.

My last time out left a bad taste in my mouth with the way I was given my first defeat. It has given me renewed purpose and drive in the gym and going into this camp to prepare for this fight…this guy I’m facing will bear the brunt of that frustration.

He’s a tall, long, and rangy fighter who’s a solid boxer that likes to fight on the outside, move around and box so I’m definitely planning on coming forward and taking the fight to him.

With what sounds like he has long arms go inside and destroy him don’t let him move around lol
I can’t wait I always enjoy the intro post because it gets me ready and I know that the fight post is coming up
I love reading the finally post but you got this brother bring it together in camp and then let it all out and leave him on the mat lol

@Rusty yes. Pro. Not on a televised level tho…yet. Not that I shouldn’t be or can’t compete at that level. Mostly has to do with promoters and politics being in the right place at the right time or knowing the right ppl.

Definitely @Bigmurph. Looking to get on the inside and destroy his body. Have a training camp, preparation, and a gameplan to go thru and come up with but that’s the initial plan.

Been working on a couple new things in the gym including a new wrinkle to my game that I haven’t had a chance to show in the ring yet in an actual fight. Can’t wait bro!!!

A new wrinkle will help I imagine that you watch fight footage from the other fighter to see how he moves and reacts in previous fights.

Body shots hurt id rather get hit in the head all night than have to continue to take body shots lol

I rarely watch film or footage of my opponents. My trainer does all that…sees what his tendencies are then implements the game plan and instructs me on what I need to do and puts me in the best position to get the W. He worries about the opponent. I work on and worry about what I’m going to do.
