Opening day of gun deer

A big doe is my favorite. Don’t get me wrong if a monster buck comes by I’m all about the trophy. However the meat from a big buck is real gamey. I think cause all the testosterone they have during the rut. So ya we would taste gross lol. Most guys make sausage out of bucks. Then it taste good.
 
I grind most mine up so I can do meatballs, meatloaf, meat sauce, you get my point, but when you grind it up you don’t know if it’s buck or doe. Or jerky
 
Your gonna love the deer from round here then. Big 200 pound does. They eat a lot of alfalfa and corn. It’s a sweet meat way better then beef. What about the deer by you @John @JB_rD81.
Our deer up north from the forests taste very gamey.
 
I love my PSE. Don’t ever want another bow. Mine has a real nice big valley in the pull. Makes it easy to hold it pulled back for a long time. I think the more competitive bows have such a small valley and are extremely reactive but when your holding back you string for a few minutes I can really feel it
 
I like bow over gun,but the military got me liking scopes,I’d never even looked down a scope before military so now I can get the best of both worlds, shooting a bow with a scope, and now I like my guns without scopes so go figure
 
Oh yes, at the very least I’m good for as far as any buckshot is. I am goin shotgun the next couple Saturday, gonna use my 12 ga pump my grandpa gave me
 
Awesome. I love grandpa guns. When I my dad passed I will inherit his dads old gun that he got. It’s a single shot Cherokee long Tom. It’s from around turn of the century
