So after last time I donated blood I guess the fact that I had Hep-C came up. But I got the Hep-C cure like 3 years ago but I guess they can tell that I had it at one point and am now ineligible to donate blood. This is not good. Looking for advice here, maybe someone else on here has come across this same problem.

You probably won’t be able to.

That being said, none of us are technically supposed to donate anyway. Unless you finished a cycle and pct more than 7 days ago.

Lastly, blood donation should be a last effort fix for elevated H/h. Taking and arb specifically telmisartan is a much healthier long term option.

Years ago my doc wrote me a script to have therapeutic blood draws. Basically scheduled a time at the hospital lab and they would take a vial and test it to see if I needed it (few minutes) then they would do everything Red Cross did except they tossed the blood with the biohaz stuff. I’m thinking it was close to 150 bucks a pop…insurance would only cover a small portion.

I was unaware there was a Hep-c cure. What an amazing time to be alive. I knew a few people with it when I was younger, I hope they got access to it.

I vote you just get a bunch of pet leeches!

I can’t donate blood because I was born in England and lived there during mad cow days 🤷‍♂️ It was news to me when I went last.

The hep c cures’ been out for about 7-8 years. 60 days, 1 pill at the same time every day and poof, no more hep. But there is still some kind of antibody or something in my blood that gives me away.

Yep it’s like the people that cure hiv tht o oh way they know they had it is the antibody
