Hey brothers. I’ve officially had a whole week of work. I have been able to contract myself out to a large contractor as skilled labor. Helping them on a new hospital going up in the town next to me. I am very happy and blessed about the work.

It has been frustrating watching these guys fumble through the job. The guy with the most experience on the job in this company has about five years experience. Most of the crew is millennials. The foreman is less than 25 years old. They main boss contracted me to have more experience there. Mine is 20 years experience. It is just hard to watch how inefficient these guys work like visiting the same location 4 times with tools and ladders. It should be two times. Rough in and finish. Also the foreman had me doing fire and smoke walls. This is something a 19 year old does when you can’t find him anything to do!!!
I don’t say anything. I don’t wanna make waves so I just bite my tongue and go with the flow cause I don’t wanna lose this opportunity. But hey if they wanna pay me $55 per hour to stuff smoke and fire putty in pipes WHATEVER!!! Hahahaha. At least I am making money and getting outta my stupid head for 9 hours a day. I guess I can’t complain cause I could be sitting at home collecting PUA. Which I hate doing.

I’m happy for ya bro! Glad you got what you got. I would keep my mouth shut too, well I’d try extra hard. Not sure I’d be able to tbh. Experience makes you realize just how much a company is off but at the end of the day who can you tell without it being taken some kinda way by a supervisor 20 years younger than you…

Ya hoser

The job I retired From had labeled me and others like me a “dinosaur”.

Some of the youngsters in charge didn’t like hearing things from us older folks especially if it was some sort of “new“ initiative that we had tried 20 years earlier and failed miserably. Just because it’s called something different doesn’t mean it’s going to work this time. Hahaha

So I showed them… I retired! Hahaha

Millennials, don’t even get me started. I got treated like absolute dog shit when I was a helper and apprentice, even when I started running work as an apprentice, the older journeymen would tell me to go fuck myself and did what they wanted and talked down to me… you try to yell at these fucking kids now and they threaten to call HR… construction didn’t even have HR 15-20 years ago! It’s like they all think shit just needs to be given to them, not earned… my 3 daughters are the same way, it’s disgusting. No work ethic, no fucks given about how things look when you leave something you’ve worked on…

When I was younger and starting out in my trade I was grateful if the older guys gave me advice. So when I try to help the next generation and “they got this”, I don’t sweat it. Learn the hard way a-hole! Lol

“they got this”,
Yep and when they hose up a $50k part and piss away 8 hours of labor doing it…they own it! They can explain to the boss why we got to wait another month for a new part with nonfunctional equipment!!!

Cmon man… that’s a bold statement. I literally just had a dude with shit from his ankles to his shoulder blades. No one deserves to clean that. 😂😂 except maybe the millennials.
