I’ll keep it up @Poppy. Side note, I injected with some lower mg test last night, no issues, and I just walked out of my dr appointment, so I should have some blood work results here soon
Please don’t quit posting your training im with @Poppy
I read your training every post even though I can barely see it lol I struggle and read it because it’s worth reading.
Thanks for doing what you do
@Bigmurph , that is good to hear! Hopefully all continues to go well and I can enter a push/pull meet this fall. I get what you’re saying about struggling to read, I have to zoom in on everything on my phone to enter weights and see what I’m supposed to do, it’s kind of a pain in the ass, but still nice to have the spreadsheets to keep the log!
I agree my vision is starting to get worse im getting old
The spreadsheet works great though I believe that staring at a screen all day has destroyed my vision in about 4yrs.
I’ve had above perfect vision my whole life
Here’s Saturday’s log. A little late, but better than never. Pulls went well, they seemed to get lighter as I went heavier, which is a good feeling, and bench went extremely well, no pain at all in my aggravated right shoulder/biceps tendon, or my left shoulder that had the bad reaction to Mig 840… I didn’t get to do my accessory work as a few people came into the gym and pissed my wife off, so as soon as I was done with the big part of my workout we had to leave
Here’s the log. I’ve got one more week of the first volume block, then it witches to 4 weeks of Undulating Periodization. Which will increase lifting sessions back to 4x week, and increase heavy squat and deadlift workouts to twice a week… percentages will touch on numbers between 80-100%, it will be a fun month!
Dead’s look good bro. Nice straight back. High tight shoulders. I thought you said you were fat? Or am I confusing you with someone else. Looking good Keep it Killing it brother !!
@Rusty , thank you, dead’s and squats were always my favorite lifts. For my DL’s to have rebounded like this post THR has me ecstatic! It would be nice if squats would start to cooperate, but I’m happy with box squats and the carry over I get for DL’s. Fat is relative my friend, the last time I competed I was much leaner than now at a similar weight (212, 13% BF) I’m 218 at the doctor the other day fully clothed and I would imagine just by what I can grab handfuls of around my body I’m somewhere closer to 20% BF. Tracking my macros strictly is helping though, and now that it’s warming up outside I’ll be much more active at work.
Speaking of the doctor, I’ll post some of the different results from my bloods, maybe later today. Doc was a little perturbed at how high my test was
@Poppy 220, but I like to weigh in light between 208-215, that’s where I’ve always felt the best. @Rusty the last few years I stayed pretty baseline with not being able to train the way I wanted… I went a little above this last year
We would have been on the same platform at about the same weight. That’s where i hovered at without overeating. I could get to 198 pretty comfortably but would walk around at 210ish naturally.
I would have been there taking my 135lb deadlift! Hahaha
I competed 198 for a while, but when it got to where I had to start manipulating water to make weight, then try to gain as much back as I could the night before a meet that weight class was over… every time I would cut water then rehydrate I’d end up cramping so f’ing bad it would feel like tendons we’re going to rupture… that’s when I said “let’s go up to 220”
Last nights training went decent… I squatted (18” box squats) and then got a little caught up trying to help my buddy fix his elliptical machine so I got the bright idea to superset paused bench with deadlifts… needless to say, my right shoulder/biceps got angry and after 2 working sets on bench, it became deadlifts only. Deadlifts were strong though, this is my last week of volume/intensity, next week is 1 month of Undulating Periodization. I have noticed as well when I go that 2” extra lower to break parallel on box squats, my knees really suffer the next day. Anyways, here’s the log
Woo we getting those dead’s in I maybe crazy to think I can add 100 by end of year but I’m setting new goal of 800 with straps by the me of year. If I can hit 740 and then maintain around 730 through summer cruise I think I’ll get it
If you train, you can get it! I went from barely being able to get down to the bar with my brand knew fake hip to pulling 220 kilos (484 lbs) with more in the tank that night in 1 year… I’ll admit a lot of it was muscle memory from my previous history of PL, but still, that’s an almost 500 lbs jump in 1 year. I fully beleive by the end of this 9 month block periodization training cycle I’ll be pulling much closer to 600 than I ever thought possible again. Put in the work @Dirtnasty and you’ll get that 800 lbs
I’m betting on me and ment doing it’s thing also I have tren entering the fray next week so train right and not over do it which I’ve been better at. Taking deloads I haven’t done that since high school
There’s so many good ways to keep your body guessing on deadlifts and keep the gains coming… defeceit dead’s, block pulls, rack pulls, pause pulls, banded and chained pulls… SO MUCH ACTIVITIES… I could easily get you to the 800 mark
