I literally saw a person Unrack and move there chest up to bar and then just let go of there breath for his rep

Dissected my DL video from yesterday and picked the best parts of 3 reps from the set up through the pull… here you go… from setting my feet, getting my air, setting my grip, loading my hamstrings and the top

Goatee. I used to grow a full beard in the winters but my wife hated it, so now I compromise with that… next week it will be a mustache for the week then gone until fall. Cant do it in the summer, places I work get too fucking hot and with these damn masks my face breaks out bad

Oh ok…wifey won’t let me have a beard either. Everyone gets to have a beard but me…and you! As a welder i would imagine a beard could get “dangerous”

Get ya one of those pincher things to set up your phone with. I used one often… before…don’t care to see my crap show these days. Hahaha

To real need on squats to see if I’m hitting depth or not I struggled with that when playing g football but I think that was more to coaches wanting weights to go higher and not worrying if depth is hit

That is common among football programs, it’s rare that you see strength coaches requiring athletes to hit squat depth. Box squats are a good way to train yourself to hit depth on squats

It’s just like flat bench press… from a positional standpoint in performance, the flat bench does NOTHING for any player/position… it’s an ego lift. I always said if I were ever a strength coach, my athletes would do incline bench rather than flat… many more benefits to translate to game play, especially in DL, OL, Fullback … some into DB’s as well, jamming wide receivers on the line as the ball is snapped…

It’s been said that the only thing the bench press is good for is getting stronger in the bench press.

The NFL honchos said the only reason they keep it in the combine is tradition and big crowd draw.

Olympic lift would be staple of my programs. Some sort of clean would be would i worry about. I never had the highest squat but my cleans were pretty good and I think that’s what helped me comeing ball so quick to initiate contact

I am a big fan of hang cleans and power cleans, I loved doing both of them in High School and College. They both generate tremendous amounts of power. I also liked the Hammer Strength Jammer machines, you could simulate bringing your hips through and throwing a shot in those machines incredibly well, and go much heavier than a 16 lbs practice shot

Yep that was the other thing we used. I remember our coach talking about how nebraska was big into them. This was when they were
Relevant I graduated in 2004

Last nights workout… slight deload from the week before, I decided not to do my 6x4 @ 325 on DL’s as my back was still tight from Sunday’s 375x3x2… and boy did my back not like me on Hyper/Reverse Hyper supersets! Also nursing a tight shoulder, I have quite a few years of scar tissue built up in both delts, and every now and then we build a little oil damn which tends to ruin my shoulder mobility for anywhere from 3-7 days until I can get it worked out… I should probably start pinning other spots, but hate hitting my quads and I’m terrified of lats!
Here’s the log
