The year of the Comeback!

These fucking Cuban Presses! Tonight I also hate Pendlay Rows, which I usually enjoy, however tonight I’ve got horrible gas and have farted on every single rep… the power room at my gym smells like rotten eggs

Well, anyways… here’s the log from tonight’s workout. I rushed through most of it, limited rest to about 75 seconds between sets… my close grips felt good, until the second working set, then my shoulder/biceps tendon got angry. Everything else was good, on weighted push-ups I had to double up on red bands to fell any weight.

I will be adding some @SRx goodies into the mix after I get my blood work done next week… nothing crazy, up my test to 600 mg/wk and throw in 300 mg NPP to help the joints. Not sure how long I’ll run that for, but recently it’s my favorite cycle

Keep posting brother…I’m following. Do you have a meet in your sights.

Nothing yet, we’ll see how the nagging biceps/shoulder heals up and the deadlift strength continues to progress… if I could be somewhere around 900+lbs raw between two lifts Id be ecstatic!

I know you’re a competitor to the bone…but maybe take a token within reason bench and kill the dl if your biceps bothering you.

Pushed off my Saturday workout until yesterday. Went into the gym feeling very rested which was nice! Deadlift and bench were my heavy exercises. Worked up to 375x3x2 on deadlifts, first set flew off the floor, 2nd set was a little slower but still good. Bench went well, all reps were paused and I’m sticking with a wider grip keeping my pinkies on the rings, it’s much less strain on my biceps/shoulder and allows me to get through a workout fairly pain free. Squats was a light day, 135 x 4x 4 to a 20” box. No accessory work, as my wife likes to work out in 1 hour or less and it took me just at an hour to hit the big 3. I did get a pretty good video of my first 375 DL, time to start dissecting my lifts again and making small changes to help avoid injury and plateaus.

I have my middle finger on ring and feel I’m going narrow hahah. Sometimes I like getting the quick workout no nonsense just lift and go

You’re wide across the shoulders. I could see index finger on ring for you in competition.

I actually did about two finger widths out side of ring for a while but I guess that’s not legal hahah. You can arch your back to where it’s not even a press but god forbid you put your hands where they are comfortable.

I like your spreadsheet Much more easy to understand than all my chicken scratch stuff lol. I can’t do a wide grip either. Way too much strain on the shoulders. You and I would make pretty good workout partners. Similar weights and similar situation.

@Dirtnasty , I used to bench with my index fingers on the rings, a little over 20 years ago… my 2 shoulder surgeries put an end to that, however I wish I still could, at 5’10” my stroke on bench would be about 12” with as high as I’m able to get my belly… it’s amazing what you can and can’t get away with in PL… I’ve seen bench only guys arch their back so far their feet are literally directly below their shoulders, and about 3” away from contacting one of the the pieces of cross steel on the bench, but it’s legal!

@Rusty if I don’t have something directly to follow, I’ll get distracted and start doing my own thing with zero relevance to what I’m training for… it’s good to keep partners with similar weights and goals in mind, helps you to push each other passed boundaries!
