What the F is going on in college football

I cannot stand watching the bowl games anymore. Aside from the playoff games players seem to think that the game doesn’t matter. The bowl games is what they played towards. Now it like well if I’m not in the playoffs it do t matter. Well use to be for pride and bragging right. Now all these premodona “I’m going to the nfl attitudes”. Opting out. And what the hell is a transfer portal. Seminoles have 14 players not playing cause they are transferring to another school. And 9 opting out for the nfl draft. Bunch of pussies. What happened to the days where it was like the next level of highschool. You played for school pride and personal pride and loyalty. NCAA is a joke man. Just one more way to train our up and comers to be selfish and it’s all about me. Fuck the team fuck the family. Fuck this. I wonder what it’s gonna be like next year with 12 teams in playoffs. And what about the Ohio State game @Dirtnasty Did you see that. They weren’t even trying. And Harrison opted out. I get that they were ripped off from a playoff spot. Only one loss to the number one team which they almost made a comeback in. They should definitely be playing for a title. But still play your bowl game to the best you can. It’s pointless to watch anything but the playoff games it seems.

To put it plainly: it is all about them. They are doing the work. They are on the field. They are going to the nfl. Not the fans. Not the seas of grown adults who let teenagers performance dictate the mood of the week. If they play in the game and they get hurt, their whole lives change. Yours and the other fans doesn’t. College football doesn’t pay the bills for a life time.

Those kids were/are making billions for the universities. In the past, they (players/kids) didn’t even get a proper education… very few made it to the pros. Like @Neuro said… one injury away from nothing.

Now at least they can get paid something (name likeness image) and have choices.

People wanted playoffs this comes with that. Is rather younger guys get reps anyways build towards future. I know what I don’t want starting seniors that are terrible and screw the whole offense over. The Buckeyes oline was terrible for no reason

Ok. I get the whole nfl thing it is their future. I’m just not use to the mentality of nowadays. Back in the day you couldn’t make them not play in a bowl game. I still hold my ideas about the transfer portal thing. It’s allowed too much corruption since they have let corporations pay these kids money. It’s just a new normal that I don’t care for. I competed in college football back in the 90s. Just D3. But our competitor attitude was relentless and as a competitor in amateur league soccer for years we were the same. I guess never having money at stake makes it difficult understand the mentality.

No I totally get it’s a big change! It is. I’m not big into sports but my family was growing up and I remember what you’re saying. It was fun to watch.

I just think nowadays it makes sense and it’s giving them back control of their own lives. My very meager $0.02!

I think that’s my biggest hang up. Seems like it’s taking the fun out of it. Possibly some of the comradorie as a player on some level too.

I kinda of fell out of watching all sports. I used to love chiming in on stuff like this. Idk… I have a couple reasons why but I’ll Google up the scores and that’s about it.

I topped caring about sports as much when I got other interest in life. But the main culprit was likely coke I dealt in bars without TVs haha
