@Rusty does your wife ever cook Lebanese food? If not, try that sometime! My mother is Lebanese, she has a few different things that she cooks that are LIGHTS OUT! Some of the best food ever
She said no. I looked it up. It sure sounds a lot like some of the stuff we eat. Same spices and stuff. You have any specific recipes or names of dishes that are your favorite. I’d like to try some out.
Fattoush, Kebbeh, stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, okra and tomato stew (you can add beef or lamb and usually served over rice) and stuffed eggplant are some of my favorites… I could eat fattoush and Kebbeh all day long all year!
@Rusty, when you lived in Detroit did you ever venture to Dearborn? That’s where all my Lebanese family is from, I would imagine that would be a haven for middle eastern food!
There was a Lebanese family lived around the corner when we lived in Dearborn Heights. They lived on Mayfair and use to come and pick our apples all the time. One guys name was saieed or something like that. Lol
I was up there about 3 years ago or so visiting family. Me and wifey had a flatbread wrap at a mom n pop restaurant …that must of been it because it was spicey and good.
Ya. My gramps was a battalion chief of Detroit Fire Dept back in 50s 60s 70s and small part of 80s. I remember going to the station with him and riding in the trucks and playing with the lights and stuff. Best memories of my life.
