Asked my doc for Test and Estro test

I asked my family doctor for a Test and estro test and he asked why I would need a estro test and I played dumb and said I thought they went hand and hand. And he explained he only gives estro test to women but gave me the testosterone test. Now I don’t want to do it because my levels will be high 3 weeks into cycle. He’s a cool guy and gets me whatever I need I just don’t know if I should cross that path. Should I just buy my own test and do it myself at a lab to be safe?

Most docs will test what ever you ask. Pretty simple. If you are on TRT he should know that test will affect estriol levels as well. If he doesn’t understand that ask for a referral to a endocrinologist. My doc will test what ever I ask for. But she also knows my past.

You have a good doctor this is how a doctor should be if you ask for blood work or a test your not asking for your doctor to prescribe pain killers or something any kind of test they order outside of probably exploratory surgery wouldn’t even effect there license. It really annoys me to hear about bad doctors so much it blows me away.

@GillyTheKid you gotta be straight up with your doctor tell him you believe that you may have high estrogen levels from using testosterone and you want to be safe and make sure that there not high enough to really hurt your cardiovascular system and you want to know also that its in range. If he says no we only write estrogen tests to women tell him you might be interested in a sex change wtf he should just write what you ask to be tested for your the customer you pay him to do what you need medically if he isn’t on board with you being safe about your use tell him goodbye brother and let him know that he should revisit his oath he took.

He doesn’t know I’m taking Test and I’m not on TRT. I’m gonna see if he gives me a referral to an endo. If I told him I was taking test what’s the worst that can happen? Would he have to keep that between us?

I mean if yiur worried just order test when I had insurance and used my doctor for bloodwork I always was honest on what was going on. They weren’t used to to guy saying they Drink daily and used drugs 4-7 days a week depending on business needs

Might be worth it to just do a test from roidtest so you don’t have to worry about your doc. You won’t have to stress it that way.

Just tell your doc and if he balks then find another…unless you really really like him and think this might be a deal breaker. No different than telling him you had unprotected sex with a hot tranny hooker and need some “tests”…

You have to ask if you can have a private conversation with him that will NOT be recorded in any way or otherwise become part of your medical record. Most doctors will push the nurse out of the room, close the door, and say of course, what’s up? Then you talk to them. But my view is that if the doc refuses to have such a private conversation, then you say politely decline to seek further advice from him.

Ya know…I’m not sure what conversations were recorded and what weren’t. I’ve come clean with my doc about everything and i mean everything…substance abuse of all kinds…unprotected sex…everything. You got me wondering now. Bcbs has covered everything so i guess maybe he coded it “right”.

I agree with @herrubermensch ask for a off the record talk. If he disagrees fuck him. Also I have never had a doc ask where I get anything from. Including back in my street drug days. Your over thinking that one bro. If he does ask I’d be shocked and then just walk away lol.

My lady doctor gave me whatever tests I wanted. I was honest with her & she did explain side effects (both short term and long term) but has been willing to test anything I’d like. Now I dont always go to her and use her, I will pay for my own tests as well.

This is exactly what a good doctor should do let you know the dangers try to educate you because the doctor knows that you are going to do what you want atleast they can offer to help you do it safely
