So from beginning my journey with just kettlebells which humbled me down and made me really work honestly on form and technique coming into the gym I was able to apply better strength James toward the exercises I was performing however when going back into the gym and just keeping with the weights it seemed like my body composition begin to go back to a state where I have a plateau
In January I began my journey with the calisthenics trying to marry them into the weights the body difference that I currently have is definitely a change my waist is thinner my arms are bigger my shoulders are more rounded what it helped me with was I believe finding my imbalances when lifting weights and that’s something which I’ve been trying to determine within my own self and reading my imbalances one of the techniques that I worked on to see whether or not I had an imbalance was doing a muscle up on a lower bar to see if I can even do one and I couldn’t although I was able to push on incline bench 80 90 95 100 lb and doing sets of them I was still unable to do one muscle up picking my own body up so this is where I decided that I needed to correct this.
The missus as well as my kin were able to tell me that my physique was changing and I definitely am noticing the difference as far as my forearm is my biceps My Wings again I’m not some cross training for CrossFit athlete because I’m not that’s not my thing but I’m incorporating these calisthenics and made it a choice to even join a team so that I can compete against others who do these type of competition which they called bar Wars
One thing I realized from doing regular squats weighted squats hack squats it’s a challenge when you’re actually doing pistol squats and trying to keep that one leg out and I’m still incorporating the regular squats the weighted squats what I’ve had is different feedback from people at the gym who know me as a weightlifter to people who have just meeting me while I’m doing pull-ups on a pull-up bar I’ll have people tell me that I need to stop lifting weights and I have people who are lifting weights telling me not to do calisthenics I’m not listening to anyone because I’m My Own man but for example I’ll go and do some dips and then go do a handstand on a wall and I’m really working on my shoulders opposed to just doing 10 sets of shoulders again I’m trying different methods and I feel that my body is completely changing I know it is I see the difference in the mirror I’m usually wearing long shirts warm sweatpants jackets sweaters so I’m not consistently staring at myself it’s cold currently in the temperature hasn’t passed Thirty so it’s not tank top season but from time to time I do look and see that changes have been made I’m usually on the go I get up go to the gym go to my first grind and so my second grind and do it all over again
