First training cycle at 40

I pull
Tomorrow if I feel strong I’ll keep the split I’m
Doing way it is if mnot I’ll change to give another day between legs and back(dead’s) days I think I’ll be fine
 
I keep my deadlift volume very low over all. I see guys pulling 10’s it just looks like pain and cardio to me. I never rep dead’s over 5.

Normally back is still good for squats following day which I plan on hitting heavy for a while.

Monday is last pin of the cycle. Dropping to 200mg a week after until April/May.

I will probably do a close out on here tomorrow or Monday.
 
At least you’re honest. This is as gentle as it gets. You’re on the juice. You feel like a tank. A machine. If you don’t train balanced and appropriately when you come off your imbalances and over training will be readily apparent. I say adjust course. Think over the next 10 years not 10 weeks.

Don’t be a “chucklehead” as my adopted father @Poppy says. Stop it. You know better.

Per usual you are right, I have been sticking to push pull legs consistently, just been throwing in more bench, because I was sure that I wasn’t going to make my goal of 315.

Last week I ran more
Of an Arnold split. Yesterday was rest back into push day today, so it became chest heavier week, on top of heavy chest.

Honestly my legs are lagging, and it’s where my focus should be, especially since my elbows are talking.

Lastly I have been a complete mental disaster, so I have been using the gym as a refuge from life. I can’t tell how much if any that my heightend test has played in it, as my life
Circumstances are maybe the hardest they have been in a long time.
 
Attack the weak points. Mental. Physically. Emotionally. Intellectually. That’s all we can do.

Heightened test, in my opinion, is not helping your mental state. Awhile back someone started a thread about the mental side effects of this game and immediately everyone jumped in with their stories. Part of the reason I don’t go above 350mg of test is the effects it has on my OCD, and how it affects my marriage. Just not worth it. Find your dose, find your compounds that help you reach your goals at low dose and remember this is all meant to maximize your life… not pile on.

That said. Stop benching so damn much. You’re body is talking. Beef up those legs so you don’t look goofy naked. 😂😂

You’re lowering your test soon. I’d say drop down even lower 150-175 and give your mental state a chance to recoup. Then titrate up a bit to 200-250 to see how it affects things.

Life always gonna throw shit at you. Don’t let some gear make it worse. That’s just silly.

You can get very strong on sub-max training weights with minimized risk of injuries.

Maybe map out your training (sets reps movements) for a 12 week experiment then try a maxish day…adjust. You can be on cruise for this.

This stuff. Just really been crazy, and I’m tired.

I hit all my strengths goals minus the 185 ohp which is surprisingly fucking hard 😂

I stayed about the same body Comp at the end of it all I’d guess I gained about 6-7 lbs of muscle. It could of definitely been more, with better dietary habits, and sleep, curtosy of the switch to nights.

I will post some final pics tomorrow, after I good workout.
