I received my second Covid shot on Sunday Evening so I decided to skip my Monday workout just to not strain myself too much. I ended up with a low-grade headache all day so I think it was a good move. I kinda mashed up my Monday and Tuesday lifting sessions to make up for the missed day.

I also got some more bloodwork drawn to see if I improved my liver/kidney function numbers at all in the last month. I was able to get my creatinine and eGFR back into normal range. My ALT and AST are still slightly elevated but have both improved over the last month. My AST dropped to 42, 2 points out of range. My ALT dropped to 53, 7 points out of range according to Quest, but Mayo Clinic actually says it is within normal range. I have read a couple studies showing a correlation between exercise-induced elevation of liver enzymes in both men and women, which was interesting. I will discuss these numbers with my TRT Doc on our next visit along my my regular doc in December and see if they have any input.

I have been planning to start my first 10-week test only cycle starting this next Monday, I just wanted to get these last couple bloods done to make sure everything checks out. My plan for the rest of the year is to start this cycle next week, which would be weeks 5-15 of the 20-week contest I am currently doing. I will be off week 16 in Yosemite with my dad hiking. This week also lines up with a deload week in my programming which is cool. After returning from Yosemite, I will continue test at 200mg per week for the remaining weeks of the contest. After the contest I am taking a week off to relax. I will then run a nice easy 8-week maintenance program just to let my self recover from a crazy year. I will then take off the last week of the year. During those last 10 weeks after the contest, I want to dial in my TRT dose to find a minimal effective dose that makes me happy for the long term, hopefully in the 900-1000 ng/dl range, but we’ll see.

2022? Who knows. 2021 has been a crazy year so far.

Not this go-round. I wanted to make it simple and stick to compounds I am already taking. I have researched proviron and it is definitely something I will consider strongly in the future.

This was as far as I got. I had a low-back pop as I was warming up my squats. It happened on rep 1 @ 225; finished the rep. My form was on point and the load was light, so I am attributing this to improper fatigue management. I have been hitting it hard since starting TRT, lifting 5 days a week. It probably just caught up to me. My goal for the rest of today is to keep moving, stretching, massage gun, and bodyweight squats. I will continue with my program and just do loads I can manage. Hopefully it works itself out this week.

I was planning on starting my first cycle this next Monday and I see to need at to change that at this point. If this weekend rolls around and nothing improves I will push that out until I recover.

I found an old external hard drive the other day and hit a motherload of old physique pics. Here is one for reference covering 20 years.

The two older pics are the “after” pics from body transformation challenges I did. The first pic is after the 12-week Body-4-Life program starting the end of 1999 and into early 2000. The second pic is after Bill Phillips’ second 17-week program called Transformation, year 2010. The last pic is this morning. I will also post the before/after photo from 2010. It shows me at my heaviest ever.

Day 1 of this low back strain. It’s cool that I can put an injury and what lift it affects into the app and it swaps out some rehab for you. Hopefully I can work through it quickly.

Still rehabbing the low back. My 16" box is almost at my regular squat depth. On Wednesday I will eliminate the box altogether see how it feels warming up.

16" sounds like a big deficit maybe its normal ive never done deficit licts?
It’s not a deficit. You just squat to and sit on a box and then come back up. I am using it to help decrease my ROM while adding weight to the bar, that way I don’t get stuck in the hole with a hurt back and make it worse.
