Kettlebell Functional Training Program

Have taken the KB only program and nixed it. His programming does legs almost 5 days a week and my joints just can’t take it.

I’ll use KBs for leg day. I’m not looking to grow too much more these days.

I am doing a hybrid KB and Bb style for push pull day. Hanging out around 235-240.

I’m pleased with my training split and style for the moment. I’m grateful to be out of the mindset I was in for so long, acting like I was training for Olympia when I wasn’t. @Poppy and @TBU seem to know a thing or two about priorities.

I feel good, and I don’t feel bad when I miss a day of training. I pay attention to what I’m eating but don’t obsess over it.

Wow! 5 days a week. No thanks.

I’m curious to see how this works for you.

Side note. I was in our local medical supply store getting my biannual cpap crap. They have a plethora of walkers these days. I was checking them out. Some of those things are hot rods. I took a few for a spin around the store. I hope none of us needs one anytime soon… but they’re pretty cool.

I used to enjoy cardio with kb. Never too heavy tho cause will feel like swinging everything out of its joints lol. I think I’ll try that again and track my heart rate. Gotta go to storage and grab them.

I picked up a cheap set of weider olympic plates at a yard sale decades ago. The 25 n 35 lb plates have cutout handles. I use them every so often for makeshift kbells

It’s just that there’s always the ever present lazy assiness that prevents me from doing them on a regular basis.

Picturing you walking around the store kicking the tires of new walkers has me cracking up.

So far I really like the mix. Echo what @TG said about the cardio but not wanting to swing that heavy stuff around. the unstable weighted core aspect of it has kicked my ass, but I can already tell a difference in my lower back for the better.

I think kbs just add a much needed layer of functional movement to things.

One of the guy I see at the gym regularly asked what I changed, he was asking about gear but I told him KBS a couple days a week is the only thing. I’m also interested to see long term effects how it goes for me.

Took a pic of the 2024 models on the lot

I also imagine your lower back takes a beating moving patients around.

I have weider equipment in my xwifes basement which is still a mancave.
