That sir is accommodating resistance.

Bench for example… each 5 foot chain is 20 lbs. they are draped over a smaller chain hanging on the bar. When you unrack a 100 lb barbell with 2 chains. It will be right at 140 lbs at arms length. As you lower the bar to your chest the chains pile up on the floor (deloading) and the bar gets lighter so you have about a 100lb batbell on your chest. As you press the chains come back off the floor loading the barbell up to 140lbs again at arms length.

When the bar is on your chest it is the weakest point of your lift (squat is in the hole. deadlift is at the bottom) the upper 1/3 of the lift is your syrong point.

The theory is you overload the upper part of lift (chains) while keeping the lower straight weight. This programs your body to push (blast) thru the weak points and stay ahead of the extra resistance. If you blink/hesitate with chains or bands…its over.

Here is my set up. The feeder chain is an old dog leash. The big chains come from a local marine (boat) hardware store. The feeder is set up for my stroke. The feeders may have to be adjusted for Someone like @Dirtnasty with longer arms. Just drape more big chains thru the little one for more load.

Bands do the same thing except theres no 100% deload at the bottom and they’re harsh on the body. Can’t use those but so many weeks the tale a break.
 
Got it. Didn’t realize the chains were so long as to drape on the floor at some point in the lift. Makes perfect sense. Functions like a slingshot, viz., lightens the load at the weakest point of the lift, but maintains it at the strongest point. Thanks!

Went to park/playground with baby girl. Its a big complex with football/soccer fields basketball/tennis courts. They have a painted white line around the whole thing that is one mile. All on the grass. Very cool. She rode her bike while i walked.

Lets see where this leads. My bp has been in the same range forever but has went up a few ticks so lets see if this brings it back down or at least holds it steady.
 
Keep me posted because for every article I read I found another that contradicted it. People here have had good luck with it and I’m always curious to what works for some and not for others.
 
I check my bp a couple of times a week so it’ll be a good experiment. Of course, if got so much meds in me now because of pollen. It’s hit me hard this year.
