Supposed to be bench press day but wasn’t feeling it. Instead did blast strap push ups. The handles are a couple of inches above the ground. The black pad is for my knees to get in push-up position.
Did 8 warm up then sets of 10 x 6 or 7 I lost count.
Do you check your bp first thing when you wake up? Or midday? Wondering when the best time is to check. Just complicated for me as I do early am cardio and lift in the evening, I know BP gets wonky after you work out
I would monitor every hour if possible except while sleeping and make notes if you were stressed if you just worked out or anything like that then after a week you will be able to see an average between resting bp all the way through workout bp from your notes and the times throughout the day. You will have almost 14-16 data points to take into consideration just from a week of monitoring.
What I do is take mine at 8:30ish am on work days. I will have done my fasted cardio at 4:30 if i did it and not have had tooo much coffee yet. Preferably 2 cups or less.
I sit quietly surfing ugm (not work) for 5-10 mins then take it on both arms.
The more data points you get the better… you can see what helps what hurts etc.
My worst blood pressure in my life was the morning of my blood donation recently. For some reason it was high. The fella was cool about it and we took a break and he tried it with a different cuff. It was down but still high for me. I couldn’t tell you why. Nothing unusual that morning.
Baby girl is going to be a killer athlete since she works out every day. Once she becomes a teen and continues to workout she will be all in and probably crushing some sport.
Interesting. I had the same experience when donating recently. I’m always 130/65-70 (isolated high systolic, very low dystolic). But when donating I was 142/80. Probably white-coat syndrome.
