On top of a bad pollen year so far…the forestry service is doing controlled burns all around us… the whole area is filled with smoke and ash.

Yep. Very much so. Lots of stuff to see in our area. Revolutionary war stuff, old tribal native stuff, civil war stuff, lot’s of blackbeard stuff.

Ahhh i forgot about the lost colony of roanoke island. They were going to be the first “permanent “ settlement in North America. Jamestown was already there but wAlter raleigh wanted roanoke to be permanent. Waiting for resupplys they disappeared over a hundred englishmen. Still a mystery. This is what I believe because a Native American actually said that her tribe has passed down the story of the white slaves who pounded Copper as laborors I believe that only 7 survived. Dare I believe was the daughter of the main guy and supposedly there were crosses carved into trees and that was there signal. I also heard about something called the Dare stone that she supposedly carved a message into and the rock matches rocks from old Native American copper mines.

We live very very close to the intercostal waterway as the crow flies. My wife and always talk about buried treasure and artifacts in our area. Something funny… when they were digging the big hole for our pool…I didn’t budge from there. I was sure there was buried pirate gold or Indian artifacts. Hahaha
