Definitely an anything goes topic! My manual gas powered push mower is finally going to get retired. Had to do many makeshift fixes over the past year (e.g., gas cap broke and couldn’t find one that fit correctly so put foil over the top, cable that held the lever at the handle broke so tied it up with a spool of wire to hold it in place). LOL. Now the motor is failing.
I don’t have a big yard as we are in a subdivision (probable just 1/2 acre at most), so definitely do not need a riding one. I also kind of like manual as it gives you a mini workout as we have a lot of hills. Leaning towards another gas one (don’t trust those lithium rechargeable ones though it’d be nice to not deal with gas or changing the oil, but that’s easy enough). Probably need one of those 3 in 1 versions that mulch, has a bag you can attach, as well as the option to just blow the grass off to the side, though I try to cut it often enough that I don’t need to bag it, but not always. Still on the fence on self propelled as my son just started last year cutting the grass to earn a little spending money, though he was usually fine with the manual except when it was really hot outside.
Any recommendations from any lawn mowing gurus? Don’t want to pay a significant amount. Just enough to get the job done well and one that will last for many years to come. Most I’ve seen that seem to be reasonable are around $200-250 for manual push, but definitely fluctuates when you add in self propelled.
Haha. This turned into a pretty lengthy post for just a lawnmower topic.
