60 degrees in Iowa this weekend

New construction and major roadways have them but it would have to be one huge retention pond to catch the runoff from the farms. I don’t even know if that would be possible without absorbing a pretty massive portion of the farmers land. And you can only go so deep before you hit the water table

It was listed earlier this week at 2.99/lb, usually it’s 4.99 for choice and 6.99 for prime. We have a local grocery store in Iowa that’s owned and operated by Mormons (who would have thought Mormons in Iowa??) but their meat counter is AMAZING AF! Hands down the best meat without going to a butcher

Shit, that’s shorts and t-shirt weather here! We went to LA to Universal a few years back, I beleive in May. It was like 55 degrees in the morning and only in the 70’s in the afternoon, it was awesome, but kind of funny seeing everyone dressed like it was winter in the mornings!

I’ve been to The LA area a few times for work. I love the weather there. The gym atmosphere there was cool too. I like how it can be 90 and it feels nice and warm. Here when it’s 90 in August or July only. You can feel the air as you walk through it cause it’s so dam humid. It’s very uncomfortable. Plus there I didn’t have any problem with bugs. It is weird though how in So Cal the ocean is cold. Didn’t like that.

You’re lucky it only gets to 90’s in August… we’ve consistently hit 100 or higher for multiple days and 75% or higher relative humidity the last few years in July, August and September… I quit going early muzzle load hunting because packing even a small deer out of timber and switch grass sucks ass in 90+ degree October heat

90 in October yuck!!! Them deer gotta be full all kinds of parasites fleas ticks etc at those temps. Plus the bugs gotta be awful for you too. I wouldn’t go either. I like taking my Deer in 40 degree weather. Lol.

Lol. That is true. At 55 degrees everyone is bundled up. Although my in-laws visited from Florida and they thought 70s at night (in the summer) was freezing, so I suppose its all relative.

I was pretty much born and raised here and the weather is nice, but seasons would be cool too. We have one long season really- Sunshine season, with occasional spatters of rain. The ocean stays pretty chilly due to that damn current coming down from Alaska, but once you get use to it, it is refreshing.

Here’s how she turned out, along with cheddar/Gouda smoked Mac n Chrese
