My Post-Blast Picture

Absolutely. If my liver values don’t bounce back as my doc and I expect, I will have to abort the blast, reduce to a minimal cruise (basic TRT levels), and conduct some further tests to figure out what is going on. One thing that further persuades me that the liver values will bounce back is that because of the damn sinus infection, I’d been taking Nyquil almost nightly in order to sleep. 625mg of acetaminophen per dose! Not exactly liver-friendly. I’ve stopped that altogether now and am relying solely on BreathRight strips when I have a sinus issue.

Legs today. Following @Poppy 's suggestion, I stuck to the hack squat machine rather than traditional squats, just to mix things up. Warmed up then worked up to 405 and did five work sets of 3-6 reps each. Great burn, but much more quad and ham focused than glute, at least, that’s the way it panned out for me. Ended with three sets of 15 on the weighted ab machine, then walked home (about a mile or so).

Going forward, I think I’ll do traditional squats every other leg day and the hack squat machine on the other days. Also have been doing Bulgarian split squats with 45 or 50 lb DBs and man o man, those things really kill your glutes! And they are hard, as you have to balance yourself.

Light back and bi day yesterday:

Standing hammer curls with 40lb DBs to failure, four sets.
Seated incline hammer curls with 35lb DBs to failure, four sets.
Cable face pulls with 87.5, five sets of 15.
Deads: two warm up sets, then two sets of 275 x 10, then stopped because lower back tightened up in a really weird way that ran down to my butt. Better part of valor to call it quits.

Today is chest day!

So yesterday was a chest day, and it ended up being an unusual one and unusually good! I did cable flys and was getting such a good pump, I kept upping the weight and changing the angle. I ended up doing 12 sets of 15 over the course of 30 minutes! The mind-muscle connection was just so clear, I wanted to burn it into my memory–effectively, how to squeeze the upper pecs. I was pumped as Hell. Then I spent another 30 minutes doing sets of dumbell squeeze presses on an incline. I got a good 7-8 reps with the lighter DBs (55s and 60s) and only 4-5 with the heavier. Finished with three sets of dips to failure, making sure to squeeze the lower chest.

Today then was another leg day. The squat rack was taken (again), so I did leg presses on the sled, did ten reps of 270, 360, 450, 540 and 630, then finished with two brutal sets of five at 720. Then the squat rack opened up, so I warmed up with 135 x10, 185 x10, 225 x10 and then tried to do work sets of 5 x 275, but only made it through two of them before legs went backwards. I was spent. Finished off with a couple of ab machines to failure, then walked home. I am wasted!

Have to travel primarily for work this week, but will get a chance to see two of my boys, one in Cali and on in Tex. Won’t be able to maintain the regular workout schedule, so I will cut back on the Ment this week. Will be nice effectively to have a week off.
