Thread for Joe. Rusty son

Another update on Joe. Yesterday I learned that his Doctor wasn’t sold on what the lab in Tennessee diagnosed the tumor as a Nuero Blastoma. He has had many top labs researching the tumor finally had it sent to the top lab in San Francisco. Seems none of these labs have ever seen a cancer exactly like this so they are now saying that they don’t know for sure what kind of cancer it is. They are saying most likely it is one of two. The original diagnosis as a Nuero blastoma or a high grade glioma. But in either case it is unique compared to other blastoma or high grade gliomas.

All day yesterday my head wasn’t right. I left my jacket at Qdoba and went back to work
I’m my t shirt in the cold and didn’t even realize it. Missed multiple turns while driving. Couldn’t focus on a conversation. The only thing I could honestly do to get my head straight was go to the gym and kill it. After that I was half way back to normal.

Keep praying for my son. Although he is doing awesome with therapy now. There is all the sudden all this uncertainty

I’ll be honest I have no clue what either of those terms are but they fucked with the wrong kid brother. He’s goig to hit them with the big boot leg drop and get the three haha. What’s cancer gonna do brother when joeamania runs wild on it

Thanks bro. High grade glioma makes a blastoma sound good. But I agree and that’s what I told him. Either way we got this He agreed.

So there are soooooo many awesome organizations out there to help children with cancer have a happy journey and my son got the super Jake Grant for $2500. He is using it for three fishing trips on the Mississippi and some truck parts.

We are going with a guide Sunday for walleye and perch. In May it’s Catfish and June it’s bass and Pike.

He also just set up a date to do a hunt sponsored by Hunt of a Lifetime. We are going to Wilderness hunting resort in Tennessee. They expedited his request because he wants to hunt a red stag and they are already starting to drop their antlers so we will be going April 20th. If all the stags dropped antlers by then he will hunt a bison instead. He wants to use a bow. The lady at Hint of a Lifetime is awesome. She is getting all this done so fast for Joe.

They pay the airfare car rental lodging food hunt taxidermy fees and even let him buy a suvunier. Gives a kid something to look forward to and distracts him for a while from his situation. Love the folks at Hunt of a lifetime. @NeuroRN @John @Cluster you guys are big hunters. Will post pics while we are there.

Ya it’s a huge gift. I recently learned that here the Random lake Rod and Gun club puts on a big event every year called the deer classic and they donate all the money to Hint of a Lifetime. I have a very good friend who is a member. So we decided that after the hunt is over we are gonna go there and share our story and adventure and pics for all the guys that put in all that work for the cause.

Here we are on the Mississippi fishing
Got a couple nice walleye a northern and a bucket of jumbo perch

@John joe has decided to use a crossbow for his big game hunt. I have read a lot of reviews on some brand name high end expensive bows like ten point and it seems they are shitty products. The only crossbow I found that doesn’t have bad reviews is the Ravin. They are a bit pricy but even their $1300 model the Ravin 10. Has a cocking wench that also decocks as well. I don’t want to get him something that doesn’t have a cocking device cause come deer season this fall I have no idea where his strength is gonna be. Plus between Hunt for a lifetime giving him a cabelas gift card and Hunting for a cure (I use to support their fund raisers). Giving him up to an extra $3,000 for hunting gear we can afford a real nice crossbow. I don’t wanna use all of it if we don’t have to though cause others might need it also. Just wanna get him something practical that is reliable and accurate. Any suggestions???

To be honest,10point and the Ravin are gonna be too much money, for bows that perform just as good as the cheaper ones use to have a Barnette,it wasnt to bad,not to pricey,as of now I have a Center point, shoots great at half the price of all the others.

Got Joe the R500. Really like the deco king mechanism. He can let it go mid way decocking and it doesn’t move. Plus it has a kickass scope with red or green lighted reticle. And it’s accurate as a rifle. No bad reviews anywhere. Cabelas gave us employee discount on everything we got clothes boots case all of it. Plus my dad gave him $1000 towards getting a safer crossbow and two $500 gift carts from Hunt of a lifetime. So my cost was under $1000. Had to do it.
