Came down with some gnarly symptoms around 3am Friday. Shaking, fever, body aches/pain, sore throat, fatigue, chills. Rough couple of hours to say the least. During this time I scheduled a PCR test later in the morning. Shoveled 9” of snow to leave to take the test which was one of the hardest things I think I’ve ever done, which would normally not even register. Got the results back Sunday positive. I was on the mend, now this morning I’ve got no taste/smell, and what feels like a moderate head cold-sinus infection. I’m home trying not to get the wife and baby sick now. I’ve been working my reflex bag just to burn energy at night because I’m mostly just sleeping and eating and letting my body fight this thing.
I went too hard at the gym the Thursday before I got sick while I was on my lunch break. I was just excited about a new gym and new equipment. I think I torpedoed my immune system and picked this up when I got back to work. I’ve managed to work in Manhattan and Brooklyn since before the virus hit and not get sick. This was going to happen no matter what.
