I’m definitely going to be looking into this. I kind of dismissed insulin for that exact reason. Even though the guy explaining to me when I started out was an old IFBB pro, I just assumed it would lead to diabetes. Just general ignorance on my part.
@Symarip85 I mean, if you’re an IFBB Pro the calculus changes quite a bit: these people are ingesting absolutely absurd quantities of carbs… kinda like the thing that has been shown to cause type 2 diabetes.
Just what I read on healthline and pubmed. I have to do more research. They were saying sometimes guys get home from working out and go to sleep and never wake up. I do like the science behind it. I think it would pair great with my injectable aminos. Just a bit scared from what I read
@Rusty I mean, yeah, if you do that. That’s the kinda “dunce” thing I was mentioning before… if you’re hypo and go to sleep while your insulin is peaking you’re basically asking to die. Now, that said, some kinds of insulin you can get away with this. A lot of people like to take a long acting insulin like Lantus and then spike their insulin in the morning and after workout using a short acting insulin. But if you had a similar protocol just using lantus then lantus having no peak would be the safest possible option.
Definitely a lot
Of research is required for this. And making sure it’s good resources that I or someone gets it from. I would think. Just shooting from the hip a shorter acting one might be easier for
Timing. Can take it right after workout so you don’t have to worry about blood sugar dropping too much during workout. And then start smashing the carbs. Like
I said before very interested with results just a bit more worried with this then steroids. If I mess up with steroids lots of time to make adjustments. If I mess up with insulin it’s fast and serious and sometimes final.
Yeah this guy was going way over my head. I was just running test and he was dropping insulin and igf-1 on me. I didn’t really retain a lot of the information mainly because I didn’t even have the basic understanding that I do now.
@NeuroRN Dan the BB says you shouldn’t take it off cycle but Mr. Chavez recommends using it as a bridge with non steroidal anabolic compounds (insulin, hgh).
