I still get off the porch on occasion… it’s scheduled now.

Thank you sir. I am getting to a better place mentally. Still not finalized, but getting there. I love this board and the people here, I just let life get me a little occupied at times.

Good to hear. In nc…a man and woman have to be separated officially one year then can get divorced and that makes them NOT husband and wife but has nothing to do distribution of property. That can drag on forever. Mine was about 4 more years after the technical divorce. Bad times!!!

Oh good lord. That sounds terrible. I am looking at 50/50 custody of the kids, but still have to pay child support and alimony at about $2100 a month. That stings. Could have bought a Ferrari!! At least there isn’t much property to divide, as the house we live in belongs to my family. In California you have to wait 6 months after filing to be divorced, but you need to have all the settlement stuff worked out first, so that is what is taking so long. She tried to get the house, but I think she is realizing its a losing battle.

Ali money shouldn’t be a thing. I hate the they are used to lifestyle well that was when you were together once your divorced other than child support they don’t deserve shit.

Agreed I know a stock broker that married a girl that was 20 years younger and my ex was friends with this girl and she planned on getting pregnant by him and marrying him only to divorce him later and never have to work again. He ended up paying her ove $7000 a month in support and alimony. Poor guy got his heart and wallet crushed.

I never understand why prenups aren’t more utilized.

A marriage is a contract so if you have a contract in, you should have a contract out.
