Powerlifting log 1 day out from comp

Felt good doing them last set was super heavy, reps 1-3 or 4 were good to depth, but 5-6 were a bit high. But a love squats they are my favorite. @Poppy

Hahaha i hear ya brother. Like I’ve said before I miss the programming process leading up to the meet.

There’s a lot of skill/science that goes into the programming alone.

Do you mean knee wraps, i dont use straps for deadlift unless it is over like 8 reps which i dont really do.

If you mean knee wraps they add like 50lb maybe if cranked tight, they give you more explosion of out hole. Some extreme knee wraps add more but those hurt bad, one guy i know uses these knee wraps that cut into his skin, and they would add like 80lb he said but he is a multiply lifter.

I did some bench press today 275 for paused 275 for 6 paused, 315 for 6 slight pause on reps. Then maddog slingshot 405lb for 3 reps. THen some cable triceps and lateral side raises, and 1 set of curls.

I did raw with wraps for a while, then classic raw with sleeves. I honestly feel I got more out of sleeves, wraps were always a pain in the ass, never start wrapping until you’re up to lift then unless you have two people to wrap you one leg is fucking numb before the other is wrapped, and if 2 people wrapping they’re NEVER the same tightness… sleeves are easier… I also lifted multi ply for a while, absolutely hated that… not enough time, I’d do my heavy compounds on one night, then go back the next to do my assist lifts, I didn’t have 6 hours to waste in a gym, wish I did… kids and wife wouldn’t allow it, especially when my wife was training for figure and her fu fu workouts only took 45-60 min tops

lol for multiply lifting never tried just isn’t popular anymore I believe atleast where I live, I like knee wraps and get a lot out of them, but the wrapping sucks, I always self wrap but it does tire you out.

I did mean wraps 50 pounds you say I May stead clear then I still haven’t even added a belt to my squats and dead’s yet I said once I hit 609 on squats I belt up

I was a raw and single ply. Single ply was aggravating, I can’t imagine multi ply where it takes two men and a boy to get you suited up.

I wrapped my own knees except single ply… I couldn’t lean fwd enough to get to them with my squat suit on hahaha.

I have extra heavy knee sleeves that I have used in training. Those got to be a pain also. I wear them on my elbows now.

Got a question brother. Is all “Metal” gear banned now?

I heard everything was, wraps included, due to an off hand comment made overseas by the owner…can’t recall his name at the moment.

@Poppy, as far as I know, and IIRC, yes “METAL” is banned, and every retailer I know of dropped them within 24 hours of said “comment”… it’s too bad too, their equipment was top notch.

I have a bench shirt and squat suit along with wraps.

Not sure who makes my wrist wraps.

Did some deadlift yesterday they felt shitty hips were very tight called it quites after 455 for 6.
My hands are numb all the time its getting annoying might have to lower dosage if it doesn’t get better in next couple days. Going out for a fancy dinner tonight so no workout today. It should be fun though. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I can’t remember what he said, or it may have even been a stupid social media post, but it was shortly after all the George Floyd shit last year and the BLM uprisings
