Evidence is accumulating that eating in a 6-hour period and fasting for 18 hours can trigger a metabolic switch from glucose-based to ketone-based energy, with increased stress resistance, increased longevity, and a decreased incidence of diseases, including cancer and obesity.
I went to the doctor to get blood work done last Monday because I feel sick and tired all the time and I need to find out what’s going on. For the blood work I fasted for 18 hours and something I didn’t expect happened. My energy was way up and I didn’t feel my usual toxic, poisoned feeling I have most all of the time. This prompted me to give intermittent fasting a try. I’m 3 days in and so far I like it a lot. My only reservation about intermittent fasting is the fear I won’t absorb enough protein in a 6 hour window to grow. I’m getting 4 meals/shakes which is 200 grams of quality protein from around a dozen egg whites, 1/2 pound extra lean ground Turkey, and whey isolate/concentrate. I supppse that’s enough being that I only weigh 210Lbs. Today was my first fasted training session. I’m just getting back into legs so I did 4 sets of squat press machine for 16 reps each, 4 sets of calf press, and 20 minutes on the recombinant bike at level 12 and level 13. No joke, my legs are hurting all over. That goes to show how out of shape my legs are. The workout felt great and I had plenty of energy. I took my usual tianeptine and flmodanifil preworkout for energy. I am basically dependent on those two nootropics for energy.
I think my kidneys are bad and can’t filter out the toxins from my blood.
Who knows.
Do any of you guys do intermittent fasting?
If so, post up your routines and the results you’ve gotten.

- Post workout at noon I had a banana, a fish oil capsule, 2 scoops of whey protein, and 2/3 cup of oats with water in my car.
- At 2pm I had a dozen nuked egg whites with nuked broccoli and peas, and 2 cups of steamed basmati rice with salsa.
- at 4pm I’ll have another banana, fish oil capsule, 2 scoops whey protein, and 2/3 cup of oats with water.
- at 6pm, for my last meal, I’ll have a nuked potatoe(it’s a big one maybe a pound), 1/2 pound of extra lean ground Turkey breast, and some sugar free barbecue sauce and salsa, maybe more peas.
