I still have a long road to get there! That’s just one of my lifetime goals. I would like to hit 800 on a power bar in the 2 months and then 850 by June as my short term goals. But I’m taking it one week at a time building the base rather than working on a 1RM.
I made great gains on deadlift pauses. Have you ever done that. It works you shoulders and grip and lower back hard. All the accessories so you can have good form on big dead’s. For me a big dead now is 500 but use to be 225. Dead pauses made a huge difference
I have done 1 1/2 deadlifts before where you do a full rep then down and back up to the top of the knees and down. I did those when I would get stuck off the floor and lose power. Really helped with explosiveness too. I like the sound off paused dead’s though! Might have to try those next deadlift day.
Had a great pressing day today, worked up to a top set of 330 for 3 on the axel bar. Then switched up to front squats with 425 for 3x3. Starting to feel much better with those. Accessories were pull ups 5x8 which I was happy with because current body weight is 339. I want to drop about 10lbs of fat but not in a hurry to do it. Calories are at 4500 ish a day.
The way I see it is kali muscle does muscle ups and he just had a heart attack so I don’t want to risk it if I follow the typical strongman routine, I will get my pro card, win worlds strongest man and then immediately retire the next day to become a boxer/arm wrestler. Then I will work on muscle ups lol.
I would like to see boxing come back around. Boxing is a long lost art. I doubt I could name 2 big name boxers off the top of my head without having to think about it .
