Yeah I def hit a wall after about 12 weeks then let me get back to 280 for a few then boom dropped them 30 again in contest. One more week of shit eating woo
Sooooo I’m not hijacking bu no means…ive been at it hard(ish) for 12 weeks now. I can up my calories by a bit while keeping an eye on my carb intake for a1c purposes.
This whole cut this cut that stuff fat loss crap is frustrating!!! Hahaha thank y’all for all you do.
If you’ve lost 70lbs in 8 months it will likely take a couple months for your skin to tighten up around your stomach. It could be harder to see your abs. That’s a great job losing that much weight that fast!
So @NeuroRN has it right running a calorie deficit does take its toll on the body especially if you’re cutting really hard and as he was saying your body goes into starvation moxe this is why crazy crash diets never work.
Best bet is to actually burst calorie deficit say 12wks and then do a refeed and then hit maintenance or just below maintenance calories.
You will actually lose more weight this way because your body doesn’t go into starvation mode so it won’t start storing fat.
8 weeks in my opinion is just too much in terms of caloric reduction. This all coming from a health and diet adherence and longevity stand point. Not Olympia.
I think 12 allows for a slow reduction, alteration, and even a sharp reduction if you require it. I’ve been at a pretty steep deficit and 8 weeks was as long as I could hack it. Took this week to add some more cals in.
If I had lowered slower on the front end I wouldn’t have needed this. But I think 12 is long and arduous sure… but I think it’s a more realistic time line. And then you don’t have to be STARVING all the
Time.
I can’t remember the actual realistic goals for a cut but I believe it 2lbs a week for obese or heavily overweight… and .7-1 for those “normal” trying to lean down. I could totally be wrong on those
Numbers, I know @Dirtnasty and I have discussed those numbers before.
A little hungry, and little less energy. But these crazy crash diets that leave you starving and lethargic all the time just won’t work for a lifetime of health.
If you’re getting on stage. Go for it. 12 weeks from hell. But if not? It’s just not worth it.
