@Mossy1985 @Dirtnasty

That’s the difference between aging lifters trying to live a quality life health wise and still train and younger folk.

Y’all youngsters shouldn’t have the same worries as me.

Yes sir. Each of us are different in our on way. I know the diabetes plays a huge factor for you. What you took in a day I usually take in for breakfast.

I was the same way decades ago. Had a labor intensive job and trained hard. Shoveled the food in me.

I still like to eat… unfortunately I just can’t do it. Well I can, but my life expectancy goes down hill fast…like less than half of my potential. Of course I could get hit by a bus and get taken out of here just like that. Haha

It sucks bad for sure. Not real fond of the aging process.

Yeah I only eat what I do cuae I have to at this point food isn’t really an enjoyment thing for me that often.

I should watch what I eat more often. I take in more fat than I should and sodium. But like last night after dinner. I found myself going out, grabbing a pizza, cheese bread, and wings.

I was same way. Naturally at 220ish ate my way to 240 for platform prs. It was like a 2nd job eating. I walked around miserably full all the time.

Thinking about it. I had a good run well into my 40’s. I wasn’t paying attention to doc and labs and age 52 had to buckle down.

Todays training

I adapted @Omegaman and @PHD leg session to my abilities and equipment.

Warmup

(My version I’ve always used) Hack squats with feet touching; 85lb yoke bar.

Belt squats mid width with toes pointed out a bit. 2 plates

Buried both. hacks were more pumping with out fully extended to lockout. Belt squats were 2-3 second down and up fast contracting everything.

Superset with little rest. 3x10 each

Step ups superset with calves. 2x 12-14

Walk around yard for 10 minutes.

My legs are smoked

This is how long I’ve been seriously drilling down on my macros…

I just had lengthy chat with my pcp about cancer, diabetes and renal function. I showed him your post about telmisartan. He agreed 100% and was very familiar with it. I’ve got a script now and will be taking it for a test run when the pharmacy fills it.

Trying to post what doc said. Keep in mind everything in my world relates to blood sugar and effects it has on ME.

He said the latest news out of the renal world is… telmisartan may elevate my creatinine levels slightly and in the past that it would be an automatic cease and desist the med. Now the nephrology folks have found the long term benefits of telmistran on renal health outweigh the slight elevation of creatinine levels.

Also telemistran pairs well with diabetes meds. In our lengthy discussion on my a1c he said that a slight elevation in that is not the end of the world so long as I make my appointments and everything else checks good. Looking into the tiny blood vessels in a person’s eye can be a very good indicator of health as it relates to diabetes…of course… along with cardiac, renal, hepa etc function. I’ve achieved my stable lower a1c on the lowest doses possible of my meds so upping the jardience is an option that is still open.

Labs in 30 days.
