Neuro was the icu specialization I was in when I signed up years ago. My first love is cardiac but being able to work Neuro makes you more valuable bc no one wants to do it.
Neuro and neurosurgery icu usually entails:
-post stroke
-traumatic brain injury
-brain bleeds
-spinal cord injury
Etc.
I like keeping it simple myself. Which is why I’ve mostly ran long acting esters. Pinning is simple but still takes a little time when doing it yourself and making sure everything is done correctly. I was pinning my right trap Tuesday. Forgot to lock the bathroom door and my 5 year old tried to barge in. She managed to hit me in the right shoulder with the door. Needless to say I had a little pip the next morning when I woke up.
